The Heat™ debuted as the 2014 Ace Race proto and quickly caught fire with players for its control, glide and distance at slower arm speeds. It has a smaller rim for easier grip, and is being hailed as a breakthrough in delivering improved distance for new and developing players.

Z FLX from Discraft

Z FLX plastic combines durable, opaque Z plastic with the all-weather super grip and cushioning of FLX plastic. Z FLX discs are easier to grip for more controlled releases, especially in cold or wet conditions. The discs will flex under pressure - without being spongy - for fewer kicks and skips, and instantly snap back into shape to retain their flight characteristics. Very nice in rain and ice!

With deep roots in both disc golf and Ultimate Frisbee, Discraft have been among the leaders in disc sports. With a recent resurgence in the mid-to-late 2010's, the Wixom, Michigan based company has many popular disc golf discs for all skill levels.

The four numbers on a disc tell you the discs’s flight characteristics: speed, glide, turn, and fade.

Lower speed ratings typically translate to a disc being easier to throw, but may not go as far. Higher the speed, further they’ll fly, but they are more difficult to throw.

Glide tells you how much it wants to stay in the air.

Turn indicates how much it wants to turn to the right at high speeds. -4 will turn more than -1.

Fade tells you about the end of the flight. The higher the number, the stronger it will finish to the left.
